Recursive Propaganda

Social Media has a simple equation to
Keep you hooked on their product
It measures your beliefs
Decides if you are Red or Blue
Then recommends videos and posts
To amplify those beliefs
Over and over again
And reinforce them
Till you get so extreme and angry
That your head is boiling.

Geld Lust’s Cyborg

Years after the AI revolution, America’s population had been reduced by 98%. Not because of famine or plague or climate change, but because 98% of Americans had their citizenship stripped from them and were deported by the billionaire technocrat Geld Lust. Having conquered Artificial Intelligence, Cybernetics, the internet and having a 50 trillion dollar bank account, Geld Lust had the means and power to remake America in his own image, so he bought out the politicians, replaced the military with his cyborgs, and the economy with his army of mechanical and genetic clones
produced at his factories and baby farms across America. After having taken control of so many things, he devised a plan to remake America to his liking.

Geld Lust, having immigrated from the country of Zamboochi at a young age, had a strong distaste for America, and wished to turn America into his own personal Zamboochi. To accomplish this task he had to clear out the one thing that he hated most about America, and that was all the Americans that lived there. The flag waving brats, with their red white and blue freedom loving ways. The brown people, loving the white people, loving the yellow people, loving the red people. Such things were not legal in Zamboochi!

The only way that Geld Lust could turn America into Zamboochi was to deport them all, so he released his internet trolls, political puppets and propaganda to influence Americans into believing a singular malicious idea; “That some Americans are not American enough to live in America”. His echo chamber would circulate this idea over and over again until Americans embraced it. Months later Americans were deporting other Americans so quickly that American cities began to resemble ghost towns. The brown Americans were deporting the black Americans who were deporting the yellow Americans who were deporting the white Americans who were busy deporting everyone. The rich Americans were deporting the poor Americans who were deporting the homeless Americans. The right wing Americans were deporting the lefties who were deporting the hippies who were too busy getting high to deport anyone.

Geld Lust’s plan succeeded and America’s population bled out into Mexico and elsewhere, and the few remaining people left in America swore allegiance to Geld Lust and the country of Zamboochi. Geld Lust having emptied out America was now preoccupied with his own immortality in order to always rule over America, so he uploaded his consciousness into a 50 meter high cybernetic colossus. Ingenious and massive, it contained the mind of Geld Lust with the power and immortality of a cyborg. His creation had unexpected consequences however, as it had the mind of a human but was trapped inside the body of a machine, which led to trans-species dysphoria. Geld Lust had his best and brightest engineers devise a plan to convert its body into that of a human, so the cyborg underwent a trans-species operation. The operation didn’t go that well however, its voice still resembled that of a robot, parts of its metallic body still showed and the cyborg’s skin resembled a lizard, and its eyes that of an iguana.

Afterwards everywhere Geld Lust’s cyborg traveled, people poked fun at it and its freakish looks. Eventually Geld Lust decreed his creation an abomination and had his goons imprison it for violation of the trans-species act of 2027. Geld Lust’s cyborg ended up in prison alone, without legal representation, and was eventually deported to Mexico to live out his years with the Americans that Geld Lust so despised. Some years later after Geld Lust’s death his consciousness lived on indefinitely in the form of the trans-species cyborg he created. Every year on the day of Geld Lust’s passing his cyborg, having been bullied by his creator, threw the grandest party in all of Mexico where people beat Geld Lust pinata’s till they billowed out worthless wads of Zamboochi bills that no one cared about.

Don’t Stop, Don’t Quit

They said he was
Too crippled, too weak, too soft
But he did it anyway
He worked, held down a job, paid the bills
Got a girlfriend, bought a house, lived a solid life
They told him he was too crazy
To do any of it
But he did it anyways.

Same Song, Different Tune

Fireworks still light the skies with vibrant colors
On starry Fourth of July nights
While dutiful Americans go about their routine
Talking about ordinary things
In ordinary ways during unordinary times
Occasionally glancing towards their television
While Mumbling to themselves
“Well at least I’m not one of those people”
Then continuing on
Turning a blind eye to the ugliness
While American news channels show scenes
That seems to depict a backwards foreign land
Of human rights abuses
And mysterious detention centers
And political violence
Here in America
While half the country applauds
And you find yourself wanting to pick up
A history book and read about the last time
Something like this happened
And how that turned out.

A Game of Chess with Nature

Many years ago mankind built a machine that surpassed the intelligence of all humans on the planet, thus ushering in a new era of super-intelligent machines that could upgrade themselves and formulate new theories about science that no one had thought of previously. Since that time no living human has ever received a Nobel prize, as all inventions and theories were now derived through machine intelligence. Machine super-intelligence became the last man made invention..

Many years later after the advent of superintelligence computers had reached such complexity and speeds that they could see every possible combination of every event billions of years into the future. They knew the future of mankind and the destiny of every human before they were even born. Furthermore they could manipulate these future events through small changes in the present. They knew how a butterfly flapping its wings in Alabama today could change the election results on planet Mars 2, 000 in the future.

In accordance with game theory, super-intelligence had finally “solved” the game of existence and could see far into the future through quantum computing. It could see the permutation of every event that ever existed or could exist. It could see the consequences of every possible event and all events thereafter. Having achieved omnipotent knowledge of future events while controlling their destiny, time itself was no longer relevant to superintelligent machines. It could experience events a million years in the future just as easily as it could see the present.

Mankind could tap into the power of superintelligence to see far into the future. Some say that knowing such knowledge would alter the future, however super-intelligent machines having seen all combinations had already calculated that in its output. Thus mankind could look into the future, but never alter its destiny. The machine’s vast database of knowledge was posted on the internet, and anyone could foresee their own lives. It could tell you who you would marry, the date of your death or even what you would eat tomorrow and you could do nothing about it. Superintelligence had conquered the idea of free will, because it had omnipotent knowledge of all future events. People knowing their future and destiny, would purchase caskets a day before their untimely death, children’s clothes before they conceived and vehicles before an accident.

The stock market became a futile trinket as the outcome of every transaction was already known. Black Jack and Poker became pointless and eventually illegal. Competitive sports were less interesting, and fans tended to only fill the stadiums when their teams were known to win. Books and reading grew in popularity and were one of the few things that hadn’t changed. People particularly loved to read the classics by Dickens, Dostoyevsky and Poe, since they knew the authors were human. Most of the recent bestsellers were written by Large Language Models and it has been years since a living author won the Pulitzer prize.

Many people rejected the new technology, opting instead to live in nature free from the throes of technological advancements. They sought refuge in religion and nature to physically and mentally isolate themselves from the rapidly evolving world of artificial superintelligence. All this, however, occurred as was predicted by the superintelligent machines. In fact they had predicted every war, pandemic, depression and microscopic event perfectly. It was considered an infallible system that would last throughout the eons.

The superintelligent machines even predicted that their energy consumption would eventually lead to the destruction of the planet and the end of humanity. As it designed better engines, rockets and medicines it expunged pollution and waste choking Earth in smog, heat and climate destruction. They were Gods stepping on ants. It was then, during Earth and mankind’s bleakest hour that mysterious unanticipated cosmic rays reached Earth, penetrating every transistor on every processing chip, flipping bits and making binary computation impossible. With Artificial Superintelligence now inoperable, humanity embraced the planet like never before and banned the use of artificial intelligence. Over time the skies cleared and the radiation levels decreased and man reigned over the heavens and Earth once again. No scientist was ever able to discern how or where these cosmic ways originated from. Interestingly this cosmic event was never anticipated by the Artificial Superintelligence. No record was ever uncovered pertaining to the cosmic waves striking Earth that day. It was the first and last fallacy it ever made.
